Barbarian Shaman Guide: Plane of Sky Quests

Plane of Sky — Shaman Quests

The Plane of Sky contains six class-specific tests for Shamans. These quests begin with Medicine Man Veetra and are divided between two legendary Shamans: Gina MacStargan and Ooga. Each test requires a collection of items from different islands of the Plane of Sky, with later tests requiring increasingly difficult drops.

The quests are available to Shamans of approximately level 46+ and require appropriate Plane of Sky access and faction. The final rewards remain useful throughout Kunark and, in some cases, into Velious.

How the Shaman Tests Work

Begin by speaking with Medicine Man Veetra in the Plane of Sky. He offers two paths of Shaman testing:

  • Gina MacStargan — Might, Health and Sight
  • Ooga — Shrink, Snake and Witch Doctor

Tell Veetra which Shaman you wish to follow. He provides the appropriate quest item or book, which is returned to him to summon the relevant quest NPC. The collected quest items are then handed in together to complete the test.

Practical Raiding Note

The Plane of Sky quests are best approached as a long-term loot checklist rather than six separate errands. Several items are rare boss drops, while others are obtained from common island mobs. Keep every Shaman quest item that drops until you have completed the corresponding test.

The Efreeti War Club and Efreeti War Maul are especially important to identify before passing them to another character, as each is required for one of the final Shaman tests. The Symbol of Veeshan is also a critical Island 8 drop for the Witch Doctor test.

Important: Plane of Sky quest rewards were historically upgraded after the original Classic period. This guide uses the modern/post-Kunark reward names applicable to the current reference material; older guides may therefore show names such as Drake Fang Amulet, Elder Shaman's Ceremonial Bracelet and Sphinx-Hide Mantle instead.
