Frostreaver Tailoring Guide - Tailoring in Halas
Frostreaver Tailoring Guide: Caradawc
This guide documents Caradawc's Tailoring progression on the Frostreaver server, with the emphasis on using materials already accumulated during the campaign and making useful finished products wherever practical.
Caradawc's current Tailoring skill is 54.
Section One: Silks
Caradawc has accumulated substantial quantities of both Spider Silk and Spiderling Silk. The silk route allows these materials to be converted into tailoring products while also producing useful components for other tradeskills.
Silk Swatch
| Component | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Spider Silk | 2 |
Trivial: 15
Silk Swatches are the basic intermediate used for Raw Silk and Cured Silk armour.
Raw Silk Armour
Raw Silk armour uses one Silk Swatch and the appropriate armour pattern. The individual armour pieces trivial at 36.
The pieces that use one Silk Swatch are preferred for conserving the silk supply; tunics and pants require two swatches.
Heady Kiola
Cured Silk armour requires Heady Kiola. Heady Kiola is produced through Brewing and is not available from Halas vendors.
| Component | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Packet of Kiola Sap | 2 |
| Water Flask | 1 |
| Bottle | 1 |
Container: Brew Barrel
Brewing Trivial: 46
Cured Silk Armour
Cured Silk armour uses Silk Swatches together with Heady Kiola and the appropriate armour pattern. All Cured Silk armour pieces trivial at 82.
Cured Silk Mask
| Component | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Silk Swatch | 1 |
| Heady Kiola | 1 |
| Mask Pattern | 1 |
Trivial: 82
The Cured Silk Mask is the preferred Cured Silk piece for levelling because it uses only one Silk Swatch and one Heady Kiola.
Spiderling Silk: Silk Thread
| Component | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Spiderling Silk | 2 |
Trivial: 15
Silk Thread is not the main armour route, but it has a useful secondary application in Leather Padding.
Leather Padding
| Component | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Silk Thread | 1 |
| Low Quality Pelt | 1 |
Trivial: 31
Leather Padding is useful as a component for higher-level Blacksmithing, including Fine Plate work.
Section Two: Pelts
The pelt route uses the different qualities of animal pelts for their corresponding armour lines. This lets Caradawc make use of ruined, low-quality and medium-quality pelts rather than treating them as interchangeable materials.
Tattered Leather Armour
Material: Ruined Pelt
Tattered Leather is the early leather armour route and provides a useful destination for ruined pelts.
Leather Armour
Material: Low Quality Pelt
Low Quality Pelts are used for the standard Leather armour line. They can also be used with Silk Thread to make Leather Padding where that is more useful.
Studded Leather Armour
Material: Medium Quality Pelt
Studded Leather requires not only the pelt and the appropriate tailoring pattern, but also Metal Studs.
Studded Mask
| Component | Quantity |
|---|---|
| Medium Quality Pelt | 2 |
| Metal Stud | 1 |
| Studded Mask Pattern | 1 |
Trivial: 56
The Studded Mask is the most material-efficient Studded Leather piece for the early progression because it requires only one Metal Stud.
Caradawc is currently at Tailoring 54, making the Studded Mask the immediate pelt-based skill-up target to 56.
Metal Studs
Metal Studs are made through Blacksmithing and are then consumed by Studded Leather Tailoring recipes.
