Frostreaver TLP Barbarian Shaman Not Really a Guide to Levels 25–60
Caradawc's journey from level 25 to level 60 was very different from the earlier stages of his development. By this point he was no longer primarily exploring the world alone or progressing through a carefully planned sequence of quests. Instead, his advancement was driven overwhelmingly by group play.
This is therefore not intended to be a conventional or optimised Shaman levelling guide. It is a record of Caradawc's actual journey from level 25 to level 60, documenting the places where he grouped and the major stages of his rapid progression.
The First Week of Frostreaver
There is an important reason why this journey was possible at such speed. Caradawc's progression took place during the first week of a brand-new server. Large numbers of players were progressing through the same level ranges at the same time, so there was no shortage of opportunities to find groups.
Rather than spending long periods waiting for suitable parties, Caradawc could move from one group to another as opportunities arose. The result was a remarkably concentrated period of levelling that carried him from level 25 to level 60 in only a matter of days.
The route below should therefore be understood in that context. It describes what happened on Frostreaver rather than presenting a route that every Shaman should necessarily attempt to reproduce.
The Journey from Level 25 to 60
| Level / Period | Location | Journey |
|---|---|---|
| Level 25 | Splitpaw | Caradawc entered Splitpaw at level 25 and began a period of intensive group levelling. The availability of groups during the opening week of Frostreaver made it possible to progress extremely quickly. |
| Approximately Level 32 | Eastern Wastes | After his initial time in Splitpaw, Caradawc moved into the Eastern Wastes. This marked the next stage of his rapid group-based progression and took him deeper into the higher-level content of the server. |
| Approximately Level 42 | Kael Drakkal | At around level 42, Caradawc moved into Kael Drakkal. Grouping in Velious content became a major part of the next stage of his journey. |
| Level 50 | Chardok | By level 50, Caradawc was back in Chardok with a pickup group. The return was significant: continued progression had brought him to the point where this content was once again a viable source of experience. |
| Levels 56–59 | Old Sebilis | Old Sebilis provided the principal setting for the next major stage of Caradawc's levelling. He grouped there from level 56 through level 59 as the final stretch towards level 60 approached. |
| Levels 59–60 | Chardok | For the final push, Caradawc returned once again to Chardok. Further group experience there carried him through the last level and brought his levelling journey to its conclusion at level 60. |
The Route in Brief
Splitpaw → Eastern Wastes → Kael Drakkal → Chardok → Old Sebilis → Chardok
That is the essential route of Caradawc's journey from level 25 to level 60. There was no elaborate chain of quests or carefully planned soloing route behind it. The defining feature was simply the extraordinary availability of groups during the first week of the new server.
A Different Kind of Levelling Guide
For that reason, this guide is deliberately different from the earlier levelling sections of the Barbarian Shaman Guide. It would be misleading to present Caradawc's experience as an optimised recipe for reaching level 60. His route was shaped by the circumstances of the Frostreaver launch, the groups that were available at the time, and the rapid pace at which the server community was progressing together.
What makes the journey worth recording is precisely that it reflects the reality of playing on a new progression server. A character could move through content at a remarkable pace when large numbers of other players were looking for groups, forming parties and pushing towards the same objectives.
Caradawc's experience also demonstrates how quickly the nature of the game changed once he reached the mid-levels. The early journey had been about learning the Shaman class, exploring Everfrost and Antonica, completing quests and building a character. The journey from level 25 onwards became a shared experience, with progression increasingly determined by the groups he joined and the opportunities that appeared around him.
There was consequently very little need for an elaborate questing programme. Caradawc simply kept joining groups, moved with the progression of the players around him, and took advantage of the content that was available.
Reaching Level 60
By the time Caradawc returned to Chardok for the final push, the young Shaman who had begun his journey in Everfrost had travelled through some of the most challenging group content available on Frostreaver.
Reaching level 60 marked the end of Caradawc's levelling journey, but not the end of his Frostreaver story. In fact, it marked the beginning of the next phase.
With the maximum level reached, attention turned away from experience progression and towards equipment, quests, guild progression and raiding. Caradawc would soon be travelling with the Frostraiders through the Velious raid game, building the equipment collection and raid history documented elsewhere in this guide.
The journey from level 25 to 60 may not provide a universal levelling route for another player, but it provides something more valuable for this character guide: an accurate record of how Caradawc Tarangan actually reached the summit.
The levelling journey was over. The real adventure was about to begin.
