Spell Research Additives

The additive used in Modern Spell Research is determined by the resistance type of the spell. Additives are purchased directly from vendors and are used as one of the components in the completed spell research recipe.

When researching a spell, identify the spell's resistance type first. The corresponding additive can then be selected from the table below.

Using Additives

Additives are one of the component categories used when researching a spell. A typical Modern Spell Research recipe combines a research material with a class-based quill, an additive, a thickener and one or more inks. Some spells may also require additional special components or a casting reagent.

The additive identifies the resistance category of the spell. It should therefore be selected from the spell's actual resistance rather than from the class of the researcher or the class of the completed spell's intended user.
