How Modern Research Works

A typical modern research recipe combines a research material with a class-based quill, an additive, a thickener and one or more inks. Some spells may also require special components or casting reagents.

The individual guide pages explain each component and recipe in detail rather than repeating the same information throughout the series.

Frostreaver Focus

This is a Frostreaver-focused reference. Information from general EverQuest tradeskill sources is used as a starting point, but recipes, vendors and components will be identified as Frostreaver-confirmed where server-specific verification is available.

This guide is divided into separate reference pages so that individual components, recipes and researchable spells and tomes can be kept concise and updated as Frostreaver research data is confirmed.

Research-Only Spells

This section contains the spells that are currently treated as research-only on Frostreaver. These spells may become available from vendors in later expansions, but Frostreaver is currently in the Classic–Velious progression, so they remain research-only for the purposes of this guide.

The complete list of 65 confirmed Frostreaver research-only spells is maintained on a single reference page rather than being divided into level ranges. Each entry includes the applicable class and level, the required hide, all other research components and the Research trivial.
